Location: The 1er Cru La Fourchaume stretches over almost 4 km on the road linking Maligny to Chablis.
Where it got its name from: "Fourche" means "Fork" for crossroads or gibbet, one of the two possible origins of this name Climat is less sinister than the other!

Terroir : Quite deep soil, composed of brown clays on draining subsoil (Kimmeridgian limestone)
Aspect: South-west
Tasting notes :
Visual: pale golden colour
Nose: A direct nose with aromas of golden citrus and a smal fram of barrel notes
Palate: Incisive with a beautifully mineral – growing both intensity and salinity.
Practical guidelines :
Food/wine matches: Top-quality fish (monkfish, sole or turbot), either meunière or with a cream sauce, white meat (poultry or veal).
Present and future: As a product of its terroir, this young wine is still keeping its guard up. Wait a couple of years for the barrel to fade, it will be ideal for tasting when it has been aged for around 3 years. It will keep for between 8 and 10 years.
